Do You Really Reap What You Sow?

On many occasions, I doubt it. Personally, that is.

Perhaps for many who think otherwise, you have your lucky stars to thank.

I can put in so much effort/sweat/blood/sacrifices into doing something, say my freelance design sideline, yet I do not see or receive a reasonable fiscal gain that can quantify my input. Many sleepless nights and what do I get? How about a sincere 'Thank You' or the right appreciation for the matter?

Well as the saying goes, one mellows down with age. And I guess I've learnt to let things go...Still in the process but good enough...What's the point of dwelling or holding it against someone right? As cliche as it sounds, we live for the experience, and that's how I can go on to delude or console myself.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I realised hurtful words sting/stay/lingers as long as you live...It's like a living nightmare after that and your perception of things/people/situation just changes completely.

And I've been having nightmares recently for some reason...

i say. don't sow where you know you can't reap.
Its like a farmer knowing that the land is bad, yet he spends days and hours at the field. go to a better field bad farmer!

people who have to thank their lucky stars? (they don't sow and yet they reap)

sometimes, a farmer can only determine good/bad land after sowing the seeds of his labour...
